Week 4 Term 2

This week we have continued looking at Maori myths and legends and learnt about the story of Maui and the sun. You can watch a animation of this story on this Youtube clip below.

We have had a very active week with the start of our Cross Country training. We have been practicing one lap of the front field and next week will be moving up to 2 laps. Thanks to everyone for sending in sensible footwear for this training.

In No Child Left Inside we continued working on our dribbling skills with the basket balls, I could clearly see that some of our Room 10 friends have been getting in some extra practice at home..well done!

At the end of the session we had e special treat when Kathryn gave us all a lovely juicy apple.
There have been some great examples of working together this week. On Thursday in maths we worked with our Maths Buddies on the second part of the Spaceman Sid rich task using our counting in 1's and 2's to help find different solutions to the problem.
In our reading rotations we have been working together using play dough to improve fine motor skills.
As a class we have celebrated children who have reached special 50, 100 or even 125 nights of reading at home.
We made a superb Room 10 effort at collecting vegetables for Soup-A-Friday.....
...and as a group some of us have been reading to the whole class!
This week we had a story from Emi's mum......
...and  very, very, very long story from Mia's mum.

Finally, working together as a whole group we created this movie maker clip of our poem about a very Buzzy Bee.
