Week 10 Term 1

In the style of budding entrepreneurs we have been developing our retail techniques in the popular Cow Cafe..a fund way to practice our key Competencies as well as enjoy our daily milk drink.
Last week Discovery Time was inspired by a picture of the Eiffel Tower. In pairs we designed and construed our own towers.

In Maths with Sam we practiced our months of the year and revisited how to make and read a pictogram when we made our class birthday chart.

We used double sided red and yellow counters to explore ways of making 5.....

...then learnt how we could do the same things with our fingers

Our Rich Maths task this week was to work out how many pairs of shoes an octopus would need.

In Phonics we were learning the sound 'g', a bit tricky to form correctly but we all had a good 'I can' attitude.
Later in the week we tackled to tricky word 'of'.

In No Child Left Inside we practice our throwing and catching skills using a tennis ball, we tried hard and will keep on practicing this challenging skill.

We spotted some great team work going on during morning rotations.

This week ended with another Discovery Time session using some of the new items that had been sent  in for recycling.

We are ending this weeks blog with a voice recording of our poem: Orange Octopus. Please leave us a comment if you like it!
