Week 5 Term 1

The week started with the School Community Group Annual Picnic. I spotted quite a few of our Room 10 friends joining in the fun.

We are getting very good at writing our tall and short letters correctly, we practiced them as part of our Tricky word focus on the words 'to' and 'the'.

We have also practiced forming letters correctly with play dough.
In No Child Left Inside after warming up with a game of Fruit Salad.....
.........we practiced our over arm throw using the 'muscle man' technique.
This week we learnt the letter sound 'p' ........
.....and as part of these activities we painted pink and purple pigs.

Here are a couple of our finished paintings. Watch out for them later on in the week when we will publish them along with our Pink Pig stories.
In Discovery time our imaginations were unleashed with play dough creations

 ...and role play.

We have been learning how when we help our friends to learn something new we need to show them what to do not do it for them. Teaching others how to fold their milk cartons is a great time to practice this skill.
